Comfort,control, and performance from the first moment. RRD does a brilliant job at delivering boards that combine a high level of comfort, speed, control, and maneuverability into one board. The 90 is no exception with its lycra covered Dakine footstraps, G10 Maui Fin Company Freewave fin, and excellent domed deck pads that provide a direct feel, lots of leverage against the fin, and smooth out the ride over chop better than flat pads.

I appreciate the moderate nose rocker which always confidently found its way over even the nastiest psycho chop and on shore logo high conditions outside the reef. On this trip I sailed this board from fully powered 5.2m2 conditions through 6.5m2 and found it a pleasure through the entire range. Whether cranking full planing jibes or jumping I felt very at home on the board so I could focus on enjoying the conditions of the day. The 6.5m2 suprised me on this board as I did not expect the high level of comfort and speed I was able to attain with this combination. I originally thought that the 6.5m2 would be unbalanced but it wasn't even for a moment. That said the wind conditions were pretty steady.

The graphics on the 2009 are also my favorite of any board in quite some time.
