Boards UK March 2009
:: 2009 JP Freestyle Wave 92 FWS::
Standard tail width but slightly narrower than most in both mid point and nose. The planing flat is standard freestyle wave, but the tail rocker is considerably higher than average. It features low amount of vee. On the Water: Once up and going the JP has a very similar feel to the fast-tailed freestyle wave boards, feeling very flat on the water, accelerating fast, pointing high and beind extremely comfortable to blast around on. However, the extra tail rocker does make it slightly but noticeably slower onto the plane than some of those other boards. Fittings: The straps are excellent although the wide inserts tend to suit wider rather than narrower feet. The pads and doming under the back strap give an unusally positive and comfortable feel that really helps the sailor's connection to the board and was widely commented on. The fin was OK but may have contributed to occasional spin out. Overall: The JP was consistently popular with our testers and guesters who invariably found it comfortable, neat, and compact. It's also pleasingly insensitive to size, appealling to both heavy and lighter sailors alike. I is a good all-rounder, particularly good for easy relaxed blasting, jumping, carving, and control. It was a little less strong for early planing or for feeling really loose in the waves but it works well in a very wide range of wind and water conditions and has a very appealing, agile feel. We can happily recommend it for all standards of sailor and for use either in flat water or coastal conditions. : check out the specs : |
